Seit April 2017 bin ich Professor am Fachbereich Informatik der Hochschule Darmstadt. Davor war ich von 2013 bis 2017 als Research Scientist und Forschungsgruppenleiter am FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) tätig. Promoviert habe ich 2012 an der Universität Wien im Themengebiet der Kontext-sensitiven Replikation von semantischen Wissensgraphen auf mobilen Endgeräten. Im Rahmen meiner Forschungstätigkeit beschäftige ich mich mit dem Einsatz von Methoden des User-Centered Design (User Research, Design Thinking, Usability Evaluation) sowie mit semantischen Technologien und deren Anwendungen in unterschiedlichen Spezialgebieten wie bspw. Augmented Reality, Cyber-Physischen Systemen (Industrie 4.0), Ambient Assisted Living, Automatisierung und Robotik. Für die Stärkung des KI-Angebots des Fachbereichs biete ich zwei neue KI-Module zu den Themengebieten (a) Grundlagen semantischer Wissensgraphen und (b) den Einsatz von Ontologien bzw. symbolischer Wissensrepräsentationsformen im organisationellen Wissensmanagement an. Dies ist bewußt gewählt und hilft uns, die theoretischen Inhalte schneller und in konzentrierten Blöcken zu behandeln. Die VO endet damit früher, so dass der Rest des Semesters für die Bearbeitung des Semesterprojektes genutzt werden kann. Durch den Doppelblock werden nicht mehr Inhalte behandelt als in den anderen parallelen Zügen. Darmstadt – Einen eigenen Roboter bauen, programmieren und ihn mit anderen Robotern Daten austauschen oder knifflige Aufgaben lösen lassen: darum geht es beim Lego KinderCampus. Das Robotik-Camp findet in den letzten beiden Wochen der hessischen Sommerferien am Fachbereich Informatik der Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) statt. Anmeldungen von Schülern*innen zwischen 10 und 14 Jahren sind ab Dez. 2023 möglich. Veranstaltet wird der Lego KinderCampus von Prof. Dr. Frank Bühler gemeinsam mit Informatik-Studierenden. Das 7. ACM Computer Science in Cars Symposium (CSCS) fand am 5. Dezember 2023 an der Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) statt. Die Konferenz diente als zentraler Treffpunkt und brachte Experten und Enthusiasten zusammen, um die zentralen Themen Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) und Automotive Security zu diskutieren. Das Programm begann mit einer herzlichen Begrüßung in den Räumlichkeiten der h_da durch Prof. Dr. Nicole Saenger, Vizepräsidentin für Forschung an der h_da, zusammen mit Björn Brücher als General Chair und Prof. Dr. Christoph Krauß als Program Chair. Drei Keynotes, neun Full Papers und drei Extended Abstracts bildeten das Rückgrat des Konferenzprogramms und präsentierten die neuesten Fortschritte, Forschungsergebnisse und innovativen Ansätze im Bereich KI und Automotive Security. Die Teilnehmer hatten die Möglichkeit, sich mit verschiedenen Themen zu befassen und Einblicke in die Herausforderungen und Möglichkeiten dieser dynamischen Bereiche zu gewinnen. Am Ende des Symposiums stimmten die Teilnehmer über das (inoffizielle) beste Full Paper und den besten Extended Abstract ab. Ein Höhepunkt des Symposiums war die außergewöhnliche Auswahl an Keynotes von führenden Vertretern aus Industrie und Forschung. Martin Arend (BMW Group, Deutschland) gab Einblicke in Sicherheitsmanagementsysteme für Kraftfahrzeuge und Hassan Mohd (Continental Automotive, Deutschland) erörterte die für Europa geltenden Cybersicherheitsvorschriften. Die KI-Keynote wurde von Prof. Jan Peters, Ph.D. (Technische Universität Darmstadt, Deutschland) gehalten, der den Teilnehmern Einblicke in Reinforcement Learning für autonome Systeme gab. Das Symposium zog fast 50 Teilnehmer an und förderte ein kollaboratives Umfeld, das dem Wissensaustausch und der Vernetzung förderlich war. Wissenschaftler, Forscher und Praktiker führten aufschlussreiche Diskussionen und festigten die Verbindungen innerhalb der dynamischen Gemeinschaft, die sich der Weiterentwicklung der KI und Automotive Security verschrieben hat. Der Erfolg der Konferenz war das Ergebnis der gemeinsamen Bemühungen der Organisatoren. Die allgemeine Organisation lag in den fähigen Händen von Björn Brücher (Intel Deutschland) als General Chair. Das sorgfältig ausgearbeitete Programm war eine gemeinsame Anstrengung von Program Chair Prof. Dr. Christoph Krauß (h_da), der Co-Chairs Prof. Dr. Mario Fritz (CISPA Helmholtz-Zentrum für Informationssicherheit, Deutschland), Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Hof (Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, Deutschland) und Prof. Dr. Oliver Wasenmüller (Hochschule Mannheim, Deutschland) mit der Unterstützung von 20 Gutachtern aus Wissenschaft und Industrie. Besondere Anerkennung gebührt den Web Chairs und Local Organization Chairs, die mit ihrem Engagement maßgeblich zum Erfolg der Veranstaltung beigetragen haben: Dominik Bayerl (Technische Universität Ingolstadt, Deutschland), Timm Lauser (h_da), Lukas Kaupp (h_da), Jana Brücher (Hochschule München, Deutschland) und Oliver Grau (Intel Deutschland). Der Tagungsband des Symposiums wurde in der ACM Digital Library als " CSCS '23: Proceedings of the 7th ACM Computer Science in Cars Symposium " veröffentlicht. Diese Sammlung fasst die Tiefe und Breite der Erkenntnisse zusammen, die beim Symposium gewonnen wurden.

Die Fachgruppe IT-Sicherheit der Hochschule Darmstadt (Sprecher: Prof. Dr. Christoph Krauß) hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, den Themenbereich IT-Sicherheit in Ausbildung und Forschung zu koordinieren und an der Hochschule Darmstadt sichtbarer zu machen. Referenzprojekte der h_da zur IT-Sicherheit finden Sie hier . Neben Mitgliedern aus verschiedenen Fachbereichen der Hochschule Darmstadt - zurzeit Informatik sowie Gesellschaftswissenschaften und Soziale Arbeit - sind auch Doktoranden aus dem Nationalen Forschungszentrum für angewandte Cybersicherheit ATHENE aktiv an den Tätigkeiten der Fachgruppe beteiligt. Studienschwerpunkt IT-Sicherheit Mit dem Kooperativen Studiengang IT-Sicherheit (KITS) sowie der Pflichtveranstaltung IT-Sicherheit im ersten Semester des Bachelorstudiengangs Informatik stärkt die h_da nachhaltig die Lehre auf diesem Gebiet. Der Master Informatik hat seit November 2009 eine weitere Vertiefungsrichtung: IT-Sicherheit. Die neue Vertiefungsrichtung ist im Rahmen der h_da-Beteiligung am „Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt (CASED)“ – heute ATHENE - entstanden. Studierende der SPO2013, die sich für diese Vertiefung entscheiden, müssen im Laufe des ersten Studienabschnitts (das sind die Regelsemester 1 bis 3) mindestens 24 ECTS aus dem zugehörigen Sicherheitsveranstaltungskatalog belegen und anschließend eine Masterarbeit zu einem geeigneten IT-Sicherheitsthema bearbeiten. Studierende der SPO2006 müssen mindestens 30 ECTS aus dem Veranstaltungskatalog „IT-Sicherheit“ nachweisen. Die Vertiefungsrichtung erhalten die Studierenden in ihrem Masterzeugnis bestätigt. Die Kooperation bezieht sich dabei auf Lehrveranstaltungen aus dem Lehrangebot des „TUD-Master IT-Security“ und des „h_da-Master Informatik mit Vertiefungsrichtung IT-Sicherheit“ sowie „Bachelor KITS“. Aus dem TUD-Katalog werden für die SPO 2013 insgesamt höchstens 12 CP an der h_da im Katalog AS anerkennungsfähig sein (Hinweis: Das ist die Hälfte der Kreditpunkte, die man für die Vertiefung IT-Sec benötigt). In der SPO 2006 können Sie 15 ECTS von der TUD importieren. Alle von der TUD an die h_da importierten Module werden im Master dem Studienkatalog AS zugeordnet. Im SS 2024 können an der TU folgende Module von HDA-Studierenden belegt werden: Embedded System Security (Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi) Cryptography on Hardware (Prof. Dr. Amir Moradi) Eine Anmeldung muss über das OBS (die Lehrveranstaltungen befinden sich unter "vIS TUD") und direkt beim Dozenten der TUD erfolgen.
