Welcome to the h_da Department of Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest and most recognised computer science departments at German universities of applied sciences. We offer students interesting study programmes at Bachelor's and Master's level. Doctoral studies are also possible in principle through the PhD Centre "Applied Computer Science".

General Bachelor in Computer Science
The six-semester General Bachelor's degree programme in Computer Science is composed of the above areas. The Bachelor's degree is professionally qualifying and prepares you for one of the many professions in computer science.

Admission Requirements
Admission requirements include these school-leaving qualifications:
General higher education entrance qualification
Subject-related higher education entrance qualification valid in Hesse
University of Applied Sciences entrance qualification valid in Hesse

The programme General Bachelor of Computer Science is an NC-free programme. Participation in the online self-assessment is required for enrolment.
NC-free study programme means that the places to be awarded are allocated without a selection procedure. All applicants who meet the admission requirements are accepted.

Bachelor with a Focus on Communication and Media
The Bachelor in Computer Science with a focus on Communication and Media (KMI for short) is a variant of the General Bachelor in Computer Science and is also a six-semester computer science degree programme. It is characterised by a high proportion of projects. In addition, there is a special KMI module or project in each semester. Bachlelor in Computer Science Dual KoSI
The dual seven-semester Bachelor's degree programme KoSI (Cooperative Study Programme in Computer Science) is composed of the above areas. The programme imparts theoretical, practical and technical knowledge from the various sub-disciplines of computer science. In the dual study programme, students work during the study period in a partner company to which they have applied themselves. This means a fixed income during their studies.

Application
KoSI can be started in the winter and summer semester. The application must be sent directly to a partner company. If successful, a student contract will be concluded between you and the company. This is followed by enrolment at the university. Application and further information can be found at h-da.de/bewerbung. A selection of interested companies is listed at partner.infdl.de. Computer Science Dual KITS
The cooperative study programme IT Security (KITS) is a dual, seven-semester computer science programme (Bachelor of Science) with a focus on IT security with topics such as encryption, data security and network filters. In the dual study programme, students work during their studies at a partner company to which they have applied themselves. This means a fixed income during their studies.

- Subject-related higher education entrance qualification valid in Hesse
- University of Applied Sciences entrance qualification valid in Hesse

The KITS degree programme is also an NC-free degree programme. A study contract with a partner company is a prerequisite for studying.
Application
The start of studies for KITS is the winter semester. Applications are to be sent directly to the partner company. If the application process is positive, a contract is concluded between the future student and the company. Afterwards, the student must apply for enrolment at the h_da.
